Account information — name, email address, mobile number (if provided), and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

Study content — documents, PDFs, images, and text you upload or paste, along with the chat messages, questions, answers, flashcards, and other material you generate while using the Service.

Usage & billing data — which features you use, how many AI credits you consume per action, and technical logs needed to calculate and display your credit balance accurately.

Payment data — when you purchase credits, payments are processed directly by Razorpay. We receive and store the transaction ID, order ID, and amount — we never receive or store your card, UPI, or bank account details; those are handled entirely by Razorpay under its own security standards.

Device & log data — IP address, browser type, device information, and standard server logs, collected automatically for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.

To provide the Service (generating study material, tracking your learning progress, calculating and deducting credits); to process payments and send payment confirmations; to send account-related email (verification, password reset, support replies); to maintain and improve the Service, including diagnosing bugs and preventing abuse; and, where you came to us via an advertisement or shared link, to understand in aggregate which channels bring genuine users to the Service so we can make sensible decisions about where to invest — this uses only the source of your visit (e.g. "Instagram ad"), never the content of anything you study or write.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make mbue work, each bound to process it only for that purpose:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of mbue, our users, or the public.

We retain account and study data for as long as your account is active, so your learning history and progress remain available to you. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain transaction records for accounting, tax, or legal purposes.

You can access and update most of your account information from within the app. You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing mbuesupport@gmail.com. We'll respond and act on verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.

mbue is built for students and is often used with a parent's or school's awareness. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at mbuesupport@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action, including deleting that information.

We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on our infrastructure — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you directly.
